Sustainability Model for Journalist by Housing

The third crucial point in the ‘Voice of Media’s panchasutra (five principles) revolves around providing housing solutions for journalists. The organization has undertaken several projects aimed at ensuring that journalists have access to affordable housing. ‘Voice of Media’s role in this endeavor is to collaborate with local administrations, political parties, the central government, and state governments to facilitate housing opportunities for journalists.

There are numerous journalists who have dedicated their entire lives to the profession but do not have a permanent residence of their own. ‘Voice of Media’ recognizes this issue and believes that these journalists and their families deserve a secure roof, not only for themselves but also for future generations.

Maharashtra serves as a model for the organization’s efforts in providing housing for journalists. In this state, the movement to initiate housing projects has gained momentum in districts like Hingoli, Parbhani, Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), Dharashiv, and Chandrapur. The goal of ‘Voice of Media’ is to construct 50 to 100 housing units at each location.

To expedite the process, ‘Voice of Media’ has taken the initiative to establish local committees and societies. These entities will oversee and facilitate the housing schemes, allowing key office bearers of ‘Voice of Media’ and needy journalists at the local level to avail of these residential opportunities.
